A Twitter Confession

Evan Gattis, a retired former catcher, and outfielder for the Houston Astros, has taken to Twitter to openly confess to cheating during his playing career. Gattis admitted to illegally stealing signs against CC Sabathia of the New York Yankees in 2017, as well as using performance-enhancing drugs. He also claimed that he believed more than one team was cheating during the 2017 season. Gattis even admitted to cheating against pitcher Yu Darvish during the World Series that year. Although Gattis’ original post has since been deleted, many of his honest responses to Twitter users are still available online. Despite some criticism from Twitter users, Gattis explained that he sometimes says “stupid stuff”. Gattis spent six seasons in the Major Leagues and hit 139 home runs, drove in 410 runs, and had a .248 career batting average.
