Former NFL player Chris Smith has died at the age of 31, according to a tweet from his high school. Smith played in the NFL for eight seasons with the Jacksonville Jaguars, Cincinnati Bengals, Cleveland Browns, Las Vegas Raiders, and Houston Texans. His cause of death is unknown. In 2019, Smith’s girlfriend, Petara Cordero, was killed in a car accident in Cleveland just weeks after giving birth to their daughter. Smith continued to play for the Browns five days after her death.
